This thesis visualization, exhibited at the SCAD 2022 MFA Graduate Thesis Exhibition, explores the everyday tools of design as a way to reflect on the deeper meaning of our work, values, and roles as graphic designers. It considers how designers can more confidently position themselves as creators of culture through intentional reflection and practice. The cyclical nature of learning and growth in the field is represented through the phases of the moon—a constant yet continual force, that shifts between concealment and full visibility.
